Doha Sub Aqua club
Doha Sub Aqua Club (Branch number 0941 of the BSAC) was the first scuba diving club of Qatar founded over 35 years ago, it is a non-profit organisation dive club (i.e. not a commercial dive center), run by volunteers!
DSAC operates in Doha, Qatar, and has a number of active diving members from different nationalities, boasting a good social community of people with different experiences and skil...ls. We host shore dives every weekend, and whenever the weather permits, we take the club boat out to the variety of offshore wrecks and reefs available in the Qatari waters. Some members also volunteer on occasions to organize trips outside of Qatar, such as to Oman that you can join in on as well.
We accept divers from any organisations and at different level. If anyone wants to regularly to dive with us, we welcome them to become a member. A variety of training is also available, from complete beginner courses to technical qualifications. If further training is desired for already qualified divers, as we are a branch of BSAC, this involves a short crossover course which is free! We also organize a series of Skill Development Courses, like Accelerated decompression, twin set, Compressor operator, boat handling and many more. Training is run by our highly experienced and qualified, volunteer instructors, who’s main goal is to turn out and develop skilled and enthusiastic divers (like themselves!).
The club offers the following facilities:
- a club house including a social area, classroom, wash down area and offices
- an equipment room, for members only to rent equipment
- a compressor room (including Nitrox) where you can fill your tanks free of charge on condition that you are full member
- a 36 foot, twin outboard (250hp 4 stroke engines) dive boat
DSAC have been over the years and still are today actively involved in the different marine conservation projects going on around Qatar. We occasionally have guest speaker that comes in to make a presentation to the members that are interested on the different marine conservation projects.
Social memberships are also available (and we are family friendly), if you want to enjoy the events but are not sure about diving. We organize a BBQ at the clubhouse every month, regular quiz nights for members and guests, and try to either host at the club house or organize outside several social events for the members.
We meet every Tuesday evening at our clubhouse to talk about what's going on at the club, to arrange the weekend's diving and generally socialize. Therefore feel free to come down to the club any Tuesday to check us out - we are open from 19:00 / 19:30 onwards and the weekly meeting starts at 20:00. Our location can be found on google maps by simply typing in the name of the club, once onsite to identify the place look for the Alfa Dive Flag.
